Board Development
We follow three rules of thumb when it comes to nonprofit boards:
Rule #1: "Effectiveness principles" are more important than "best practices".
Rule #2: A good board is one whose role is aligned with the lifestage of the organization.
Rule #3: Form follows function.
We offer two levels of board training. Board Basics addresses:
- Board responsibilities
- Board structure and composition
- Committee functions
Advanced Board Training is designed for boards seeking deeper levels of member engagement. Board members are led through a series of activities based on the Governance as Leadership* framework.
